Benefits of becoming a member
For just £1 you accumulate dividend points on every purchase you make at any Wooldale Co-operative store. Over time these can add up to a tidy sum which can be withdrawn on application to the Society (e mail info@wooldale.coop).
If you decide to invest more in the Society then interest is paid on your investment which can be up to £20,000 and withdrawn subject to the Rules of the Society (see ‘Investing in Wooldale Co-operative Society’ below).
Our members are vital to the survival of the Society and you will be supporting our local community if you join us.
As a member, you can help decide what products and services we provide - just ask to talk to the store manager.
Members also have the opportunity to get involved in the running of the Society. We are always looking for new board members and application is very easy. Full training is provided so no experience is required; just enthusiasm and support for the co-operative values and principles.

Start your own co-operative; if you have an idea for a product or service that is relevant to our local community and fulfils a social or environmental objective, why not try the co-operative approach? We can discuss your project with you, help you access support, and even help you ‘incubate’ your co-operative before setting up your own premises and organisation. We have done this recently for the new Fair Traders Co-operative now about to open in Holmfirth. Just e mail director@wooldale.coop for a confidential discussion with a Board member.
